Valentine’s Day for Bike Lovers

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

All I want for Valentine’s,

Is a Bicycle ride with you.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and here at Aladdin’s Bikes we’ve been thinking about how you could make the day extra special for your other half – especially if they are a cycle-enthusiast. Read on bike lovers, read on…

One Word – Tandems

Okay so these things are a little hard to come by if you don’t already have one but we challenge you to think of a more romantic thing to do with your Valentine than riding through the countryside on a Tandem.

Plan a Bike Ride

Choose a scenic route that you know has some amazing views, perhaps a riverside perch and go on a gentle bike ride with your loved one.

Here are a few of our favourites in and around Nottinghamshire:

  • Sherwood Pines – cycle through the famous forest with a choice of different routes, then stop off at one of the nearby country pubs for a re-fuel.
  • Erewash Valley – take in over 30 miles of waterways and countryside on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border (don’t worry, you don’t have to do the full 30-miles!) as you cycle side by side with your loved one.
  • Cotgrave Canal – you’ll be surprised at how close you are to Nottingham City Centre here as you cycle through this stunning countryside. Take a little picnic to enjoy on a canal-side bench.

All the Gear…

If your other half loves cycling, you could kit them out with some of the latest equipment. This could be cycle clothing, a backpack, drinks bottle or some gloves made especially for cycling to keep their hands warm on these bitter winter’s mornings. They may seem like small gestures but they will mean a lot to your loved one if they spend a lot of time on two wheels.

A Little More Extravagant…

If you like to go all out on the 14th with a super extravagant gift then you could book a cycling holiday for the two of you. We’ve already wrote a blog post that takes the hard work out of choosing the perfect destination, so have a read of that here:

We hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration to celebrate the day of love a little differently.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
